A Wordsmyth literacy-development initiative.
CURRENT STATUS: IN DEVELOPMENT
Green to Read is a developing Wordsmyth framework intended to help connect literacy assessment, explicit instruction, intervention planning, and visible student progress. It is not currently an operational curriculum, validated intervention, purchasable product, or service offered for school implementation.
THE DEVELOPMENT GOAL
Students who struggle with reading often encounter fragmented assessment, intervention, and progress information. Green to Read is being explored as a practical framework for helping educators identify instructional priorities, organize systematic literacy support, and communicate growth more clearly over time.
PROPOSED DESIGN PRIORITIES
The developing framework is intended to explore:
• Systematic and explicit literacy instruction
• Structured sequencing of foundational reading skills
• Connections among assessment findings, instructional targets, and lesson planning
• Tier 2 and Tier 3 intervention design
• Practical progress monitoring and longitudinal growth records
• Clear communication among educators, interventionists, families, and leadership teams
• Adaptability for different educational settings and learner needs
DEVELOPMENT APPROACH
Wordsmyth is approaching Green to Read as a staged curriculum-development effort. Anticipated work includes defining the instructional model, organizing scope and sequence, developing prototype resources, obtaining expert review, testing usability, refining measurement methods, and identifying an appropriate path for controlled pilot work and future evaluation.
No claim of effectiveness, research validation, regulatory approval, or readiness for adoption is being made at this stage. Any future pilot or research activity would require clearly defined roles, participant safeguards, permissions, data practices, and evaluation criteria.

Development is informed by TJ Feth’s experience as a Certified Academic Language Practitioner, licensed educator, and mathematics educator with more than 30 graduate hours in special education.
